Janet Myrtle Tebo, 91, of Keaau died April 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Gillett, Wis., she was a retired registered nurse, Red Cross volunteer, avid card player and member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park Hula Girls, quilting club and Hawaiian Paradise Park Senior Center. Private services. Survived by son, John (Therese) Hostvedt of Whidbey Island, Wash.; daughters, Jill (Greg) Persick of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Jane (Greg) Jones of Auburn, Wash.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

James William Thorpe Jr., 65, of Kailua-Kona died April 11 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hudson, N.Y., he was a U.S. Navy commander, a 1972 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and lifetime member of Military Officers Association of America and U.S. Naval Institute.
